Niaguis Clinic (Dispensaire Adventiste de Niaguis)

The clinic we run is located in Niaguis, Senegal. This is a region that has been badly affected by rebels in the past. Because of the Casamence political unrest in the past, the clinic served to help heal the injured and care for children and babies. With eight beds, a pharmacy, a lab, and a surgical room, we have been offering our services since 1989.

ADRA Italy donated the funds necessary to plant a mango grove to supply the necessary income for our clinic in Niaguis. We are thankful for seasonal mangos that are so delicious. People are ready to pay a lot of money for them. With over 400 mango trees and several other lemon and orange trees, our patients will never run out of vitamin C during their stay or treatment. ADRA Switzerland undertook the project of building up the clinic's fantastic infrastructure right in the middle of a beautiful mango grove.

 

Seventh-day Advenitst School (Ecole Adventiste Clair Soleil)

In 2001 the mission started a pre-school, and in 2006 we expanded our little pre-school to a partial elementary school by beginning a first grade class. Our hope is to continue expanding our school to complete the elementary cycle and perhaps one day even expand into a secondary school.

The school currently has 5 classrooms serving 6 grades:

"Toute Petite Section" (from 18 months)

"Petite Section" (age 2-3)

"Moyenne Section" (age 3-4)

"Grande Section" (age 4-5)

"CI/CP" (age 5-6 and 6-7)

Our objectives are very simple:

• Prepare our children for life here on earth.
• Prepare our children for eternity.
